I think the system this PDF is describing is very close to the X3's "last-generation" navigation system.

If you go to website of bmw you can register an account in the "my bmw" section. After registration you can download every manual of your car as a pdf file.

In Germany this section is available but I dont know if it is the same in Australia. May try the US site of bmw.

Unfortunately BMWNA has decided not to keep the owner's manual section of the Owner's Circle up to date. I can not get at the owner's manuals for any of my cars. It seems that 2004 or 2005 is the last year they provided the manuals. It would be really nice if they fixed this.

Actually it doens't look like BMWNA has kept up with the site at all. It could use a complete redesign!

Well your one step ahead of us here in Australia we done even have a Owners Circle Portal to get that information.

And we cant register on the US site as the VIN and address are not accepted.

But thanks to everyone for comments and links they have been useful.

And Just a word to the wise on the Retro Fit Nav Unit on 07 X3.

I had to order an additional part for my car at a cost of $250 Australian Dollars.

The part was the Trim Cover that sits in front of the NAV DVD in the trunk. The orignal one has a indent that hits the NAV Cradle and Player

I will post some pics of my New X3 once I get it washed over the weekend.
