Ipod running very hot with dice

I recently installed the dice in my X3. I notice my ipod gets very hot when plug into the dice device for a while. I was wondering if that is normal? The dice works great in my X3.

Its funny you mention this as I had some issues with my DICE it was making some strange noise's via the X3 sound system. When I pulled the center console out I noticed a very small melting plastic hole. I am not sure if this was caused from the Ipod from getting hot or from the DICE itself it kind of feels like it was the DICE itself. I am going to keep an eye on it to see if melts any furtter.
