Chrome Door Openers - retrofit possible?

I have a Sept 04 X3 3.0i Sport which has the (nasty) black interior door openers. Looking at the realoem.com parts list, the later Chromed handles look the same (obviously different part numbers) and appear on the parts list

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...70&hg=51&fg=50

Does anyone know whether it is possible to retrofit the nicer chrome handles in place of the black plastic ones?

Has anyone had the handles and/or door cards off, and is it a straightforward job?

Thanks in advance.

Hi trapdoor. I'm pretty sure the handles are interchangeable.

Here are two PDF's on how to remove the door panels.

Hope these help!
