Airbags II

Hi All, I posted a questions about the Passanger Airbag Off Light remaining on even when I have a passanger in the front seat the other day - thanks for the responses. I had a follow-up question from the answers. The people sitting in the front seat are all adults over 70 pounds. I will try moving my streering wheel to see if that effects it, but this seems like a serious issue if the airbag really won't work in a collision. Any further info related to this issue when an adult is in the front seat is much appreciated.

thanks

If the people sitting on the passenger seat is NOT a child -- an adult of over 70 pounds, AND the airbag light remains on, I suggest you take it in to your dealer. That does not sound normal.

I just stoped by a dealer the other day to ask about this exact problem and he told me there was nothing they could do, not even make it so the air bag is on all the time or nothing. they said that you have to sit exactly like the owners manual tells you or the light will come and and that a lot of people have complained and that BMW is supossed to be looking into it..... i wont be able to talk to that dealer again though because I am in the process of moving right now.
