Any issues changing to 19" wheels from 18"?

I have a weird wobble/judder when cornering, and my helpful dealer has suggested that one of my front rims is slightly buckled. They have recommended I change to another set of wheels(!) and see if the issue goes away.

I have thought about going to 19" staggered alloys from the 18" that are on there. Can anyone tell me if there are any issues, particularly with ride quality and speedo reading (over/under reading)?

Thanks all.

M.

There are no issues as long as you get wheels spec'd for the car. People on this board have gone from 17's to 20's without issue, 18's to 19's should cause no problems.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Am looking at ex-X5 Y spoke OEM staggered wheels. Won't do replica's.

Cheers.

Your ride, but there are plenty of very good replicas out there for a lot less money then OEM.

You should be fine. The ride will be a bit firmer and the tires more expensive, but otherwise the X3 does fine with them. BMW actually sells 19" Accessory wheels.

Check with the offset before buying X5 wheels. Apparently there is a small difference in the offset, but I'm not sure if its negligible. Learned this when I tried to buy a set of X5 winter tires/wheels.
