X3 Skier is on a distinguished road
Living in the Mountains, small cracks/chips in windshields are common. I have had two repairs done with the windshield installed on my wife's Grand Cherokee. My insurance (State Farm) pays for the repairs with no deductible as it is a LOT cheaper than a new windshield. I suspect most other insurance companies have a similar policy of no charge.

Cheers
