Newbie here: economical MP3 option advise

Greetings all. Newbie here. Please go easy on me. Recently purchased a 2004 X3 base model. Looking to upgrade the stereo's functionality to either play mp3 cd's or allow me to attach my ipod either via the glovebox, center consol, or resting on the seat next to me. I've seen a few options posted here, but I'm looking for something affordable since I hocked everything I own to purchase the car...

I am not mechanically inclined and will need a professional to do the modifications.

I would recommend either the OEM aux cable (it really is an easy install) or a DICE kit.

In our 2004 X3, we had the aux input installed. It's < $50.
