2004 X3 Should I put 20"s or 22's ???

I have a 2004 X3 prem and sport pkg....

I'm looking at putting some bigger rims and tires on it.

My question is it possible to put 22"s on it....

I don't want to lower the truck at all so I'm worried that the 20"s will look too small and have a big gap in the wheel well...

Does anyone have photos? and suggestions..

Thanks so much...

Yeah its possible to put 22's on it...But it will look pretty lame in my opinion...I have 20's on my X5 and it looks perfect. 22's on an x5 is also not out of the ordinary but on an X3 it is not a good idea in my opinion. It will look too out of place...BMW's are not Honda's, the wheel gap is not that big and furthermore the wheel gap stays the same no matter what size rim you put on it....

Here are a couple of threads with both 20s and 22s. Hope this helps.

I'm in the same boat. The X3 has very large wheelhouses for the standard tire and wheel sizes...even 18"-19" wheels using plus one or plus two sizing looks small, IMO. I REALLY like the one with the 20" Bayerns and think I'm going to look into that.

One other option I'm pursuing is using 19" or 20" E53 or E70 wheels. Does anyone know if either of these fitments will work with an E83? I know an E83 uses an offset of around 45-51mm. There are usually several E53/E70 wheel and tire sets on Ebay that would be the easy route, but I'm not sure if the stock fitment, especially for a 19" E70 setup (255/50-19), which is 1.75" taller, would either 1) fit or 2) look awkward.

Any thoughts or comments greatly appreciated!

Thanks - Mike

Very nice choice. I don't think I've seen those on any X, 3 or 5.

Ditto! (Nice tires too ) Infact I have the CHs also in 19s on my A4.. Never actually thought of them on the X3! Looks good! It matches the M sport kit quite well! and goes well with the colour of the car as well!
