Cargo net rattle

Other than removing the cargo net/trunk area cover unit, is there a fix for the cargo net rattle? When its not being used, it makes a loud rattle sound(metal to metal) every time the X3 hits a decent bump.

Hi there:

If you mean the cover that pulls across the back area from just behind the rear seat then there should be no rattle - at least mine doesn't! It fits in very tightly. I do think I am starting to get window rattle from the bigger jolts.

Maybe try the dealership!

Drove X3 to Charleston SC this weekend. Cargo net did not rattle once in spite of lots of bumps on I95 and in Charleston. I have almost 1500 miles on it.

In the last 6 months I have started getting rattles in my 06' X3 from almost everywhere in the vehicle. I notice most of the rattles are comming from the right rear door and cargo area. For the life of me I can't pinpoint where. Anyone else have major rattle problems? Of the many BMWs I have owned this is my first X3.

To the OP:

Are you sure it's the cargo cover? Try removing it and driving around for a while.
