You have to make sure the next of the bottle pushes on the flap inside the fuel tank nozzle to open it, otherwise it will make a mess. Don't worry, you won't break it. Just jam it in there. It will feel a little stuck but you can pull it right out. Add the bottle when you go to refuel an empty tank for maximum mixing and benefit.

i use a piece of plastic pipe to open flap before filling cleaner . bmw dealers sell german made cleaner which has perfect nozzle on bottle so now i use that bottle to fill with other cleaners.

Yeah I think the bottle just isn't made to fit in there enough to push the flap open. Maybe a good idea to get the BMW one and use the bottle. I'm trying to use the Redline cleaner, but I think the neck is a little too fat to push in very far...

BMW cleaner fits perfectly. Don't know about any others.

I have used RedLine before and from what I remember, it fit just fine.
Don't waste yourt money buying the BMW fuel system cleaner from the dealer. It is Chevron Techron with a different label. Go to Chevron or most local parts stores and pick some Techron fuels system cleaner up |

You are correct about the branding. However, with a BMWCCA discount I've found the dealer to be cheaper!

Well I should have waited longer and read this before I guess but I did get the BMW one earlier and the bottle worked perfectly. Problem solved. Thanks for the responses.
