-X3 Windshield wipers with automatic intermittent wipe and rain sensor

2007 X3 -Do I have to turn on the sensor(stock handle) ?Evertime I start the car to activate the auto rain sensing wipers.

This is normal in every BMW. It prevents mindless idiots from driving into the car wash and unintentionally activating the wipers.

Not on our car - once the lever is in the intermittent position the auto-wipe is enabled even over stop / start cycles.

Really? So it is fully automatic, even if the stalk is left in that position and you come back 2 days later?
