2006 X3 Pricing

Hi Guys,

I'm about to place an order for a 2006 X3 for the wife. It will be pretty optioned out (Cold/Sport/Premium/Nav/Xenons/Servotronic Steering/Auto Trans/Rear Airbags/Cargo Net/Premium Sound/Sat Radio Prep/Privacy Glass/White exterior/Black interior w/Aluminum Trim). The MSRP is $46,330 and Invoice is $42,695. Since there is no such apportioned vehicle around and it must be ordered, what kind of discount can I expect to receive? Any insight/comments/tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

depends where you buy.

higher volume dealers are more willing to discount, especially if you seem to be a potential (or are a) repeat customer.

i would push for at least a 5% discount (about 2300$). find a high volume dealer, and compare it to at least 2-3 dealers. you will save a few thousand $$ if you negotiate correctly..

Any suggestions?

I live in Texas, specifically the DFW metroplex. I have 4 dealers within 25 miles. Anyone know of a good dealer to talk to? I wouldn't mind driving up to 4 hours to save some dough. Thanks.

My experience

I had no luck with my order I went to see both dealers in town with the same result. Seems that there are no X3s available in inventory so they are not willing to give any discount. I am used to having fun with the dealer and squeezing and twisting around the subject to get a reasonable discount. At some point after figuring out that it is difficult to get even over 1% I took the calculator (like the salesmen always do and play with) and punched the math on with a serious thinking look - of course recalculated a couple of times - and ended up asking 5,5% discount the guy almost threw me out of the office

Seems that they just don't have a need to give discounts over here because inventories are empty at the dealers and most of the ones coming in are already sold. I would have gotten 5% off on 525xi that was in inventory but did not want to spend that much money on a car even though it is probably one of the best cars to drive.

I hope you have better luck - if not at least enjoy the experience and have fun...

The dealerships here in Germany (US sales) use fixed prices and will not come down a penny in price. That's Ok since I bought my X3 6K under MSRP and no taxes.
