Question Radio / On-board Computer Manual

Greetings X3World-ites!

I'm new to the group and new to the X3. Just picked up a 2006 X3 yesterday (actually it's my wife's vehicle, but you know who gets to maintain it.)

So, it came with the lovely binder with 10 or 12 manuals, CDs and/or DVDs, locations of every BMW service center in the country, etc., etc. However, no owner's manual! I stopped by the dealer where I bought it this morning and they took one from another 2006 on the lot and gave it to me. So at least I have that. However, if you look in the index under Radio it says, see Radio and On-board Computer manual. I don't have that and neither did the dealer.

I looked on the BMWUSA site but they don't provide it. Or it's not obvious where it is. Does anyone have an electronic copy of this? I don't care if I have the original, hardcopy. It's probably not very big and I can just print the PDF file out and staple it up for reference.

Thanks!!!
- Larry

larry_bar56,

There is one online for the 2004 X3. Looking at it, it's the same one I have for my 06 X3. You can find it under the Navigation area in the main x3world home page. Link also below

Thanks! I wish I had the Nav option, but I don't. I guess the owner's manual is more generic. I just have the standard Business CD radio; AM/FM/Single CD. Nothing special. Also, just the basic on-board computer functions that show up at the bottom of the instrument cluster, time, temp, range, mpg.

I'm not sure why BMW chose to remove the radio information from the owner's manual. It's been in there since the dawn of time, why change it now and create situations like this. I'm glad I didn't go to the dealer and purchase this manual....it would be of no use to me and I'd be out, who knows, how much money!

Thanks again for your effort in locating the one you did.

So this is the same manual I have for my X3 but I have Navigation. The manual is generic but I would at least expect it to have some sort of screen shot for the standard radio. But then again it does cover the functions...

Does anyone else out there have a different manual with your non-Nav car to help out larry_bar56...
