Unhappy Passenger Mirror Help

Hey All,

Recently my 2005 X3 (6spd-MT) came off warranty (figures) and the passenger mirror started acting up. I was hoping to see if anyone had this problem, and hopefully know a corresponding resolution to it. As most of us know, the passenger mirror will rotate toward the ground when the vehicle is put into reverse. Once the vehicle is put into neutral or 1st, the mirror will rotate back to the position it occupied prior to reverse.

My issue is as follows, the mirror no longer comes "back" to the original position and remains rotated down, secondly, i have noticed that if i double click the keyless entry when approaching the vehicle (which unlocks all the doors as we all know) the passenger mirror will rotate down, which obviously points to something electrical. Finally, my power mirrors still work fine and this is nothing more than a nuissance since i can correct the mirror positioning very easily, but it isn't functioning right and i thought i would poll X3world.com

Thanks for any help guys,

-Jon
