Replace sunroof?

Hey guys, got a question for you. I just bought a used '05 X3 and the back half of the cover was lost somewhere back inside the headliner, so I took it to the dealer today to get it fixed (still under warranty). They called me up and said they found broken glass fragments which were 'jamming' the track, and wanted to replace the whole thing for $4100. I asked him if it would be better to maybe vaccuum out the fragments as a first step. He's asking the service manager now and is supposed to call me back.

My question is, is that a fair price to replace the sunroof? Seems waaay over the top. There's nothing wrong with the glass, only the track would need replaced.
