6yr/100,000km maintwarranty almost up what to check

Just like the title states my warranty is up in August and was wondering what all should I have them check replace? Have an appointment on Tuesday. All advice appreciated.

Going to get them to check tranny, all fluids replace and cooling system flush. Anything else?

Generally BMW will not do service "checks" something has to be wrong.

I had a CarMax warranty that was honored at BMW dealers. I took my My 02 4.4i in to BMW a few weeks ago before the warranty expired and they replaced the motor mounts and a power steering hose. If you can get it in for a check, they will pretty much look the car over, but you may want to have them pay special attention to the thrust rod bushings, motor mounts, any signs of fluid leaks, CV boots and so on.

That must be a shop by shop thing. The dealer that serviced all my Bimmers wouldn't do that, pretty much said it is against corporate policy. So if you find one that will, lucky lucky.

Maybe a dealer to dealer thing. I think it was also due to the fact that BMW itself wasn't the one holdiong my warranty. Because the warranty was through MaxCare (Carmax) any item that this BMW dealer could find and say needed replaced was pure money for them. They didn't have to go to Mom and Dad (BMW itself) and get the warranty work approved. It was great really. I had the BMW dealer actually working for me instead of balking on items that they could say didn't need repalced quite yet with a factory extended warranty.

+1. Most dealers will not perform major maintenance tasks unless it falls within the recommended BMW maintenance schedule because BMWNA will not going to reimburse the dealership for the cost.

IMHO, the dealership can get more work covered under an expiring extended warranty (CPO or OOP) as opposed to an expiring extended free maintenance warranty because the guidelines are less restrictive.
