glovebox removal
I am getting ready to install the Aux Input. I am still debating on where to install it but in the meantime I can't find directions on removing the glovebox. I know I came across these at one time but alas I can't find them now that I need them. Anyone know? thanks |

It is really easy, open it up and have a look. Also, see Step 3 in this article which talks about glove box removal: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...placement.html

I posted at DYI on one of the X3 forums when I put my AUX and my rear hatch release. It was a PITA removing the glove box. It was easier to remove the radio. I installed mine per BMW OEM manuals. I did not like the placement of the AUX port in that if you plug something in you have to be careful with the hinge. I moved my whole AUX cable into the Glove box and let it hang freely inside. The cutting for the rear hatch release was a bit tricky. BMW provide you with a template for both AUX and rear hatch release. Just be carefull cutting. Attached is the PDF for AUX and rear hatch release install and my pictures. If you are already taking the glove box out you might as well install them both. In Europe the AUX port sits next to the cigarette lighter in the rear of the center console. Many folks put it inside of their center console. Its more difficult though to wire into the center console. You have to remove a number of items for placement. In the glove box its only the glove box and the radio/AC Vents that you have to remove.

I tried the Dice unit and I hated it. Terrible and slow interface and always got this digital noise at any volume. |
