Question Headlight Swap...07 into 06..and iPhone ULF question

So, I just picked up a set of 07 xenons and wonder if anyone here has done this swap. I already have xenons in my 06, but really wanted the "Angel eyes". Everything else appears to be plug & play, except for the angel eyes. I'm not even sure if this is possible....If not, then there will be a set on Ebay soon.

Secondly...I just picked up an iPhone and I can't seem to get it to pair with the BMW ULF. The Samsung and Sony I had paired easily, this one seems to hang until I shut the car off. Once I get going again, it only shows the phonebook and won't select the name or dial. Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar to this and if there is maybe something I'm missing.

TIA

If we are able to keep our 06 leased X3 to ourselves at the end of the contract, I'd also be interested into changing the xenons into the 07' angel eyes version.
Keep us posted with your results

You can get Angel Eyes from Jlevi. Look for them in the Vendor Forum.

Any update on your success (or lack thereof) with the swap? I would expect that at a minimum you will need to locate or create a wiring adapter to feed power to the angel eyes -- similar to the ones sold with angel eye retrofits for E39's.

In any case, I think a few of us are interested in whether this works out or not. From my untrained eye, the light assemblies certainly appear to be the same size, but I am definitely interested on whether they will fit without modifications to the brackets, etc. into the 2006.

Keep us posted!

I asked the SA at the local dealership, and he said the sizes of the headlights of the '06s and '07s are the same, but the wiring would be a bit involved. I was also interested in swapping out the tail lights to the LEDs, and the sizes are the same as well, but the SA thinks there would be a perpetual error message that the tail lights were out due to the differences between having a single bulb, and the LEDs. I'm not sure if he was just blowing smoke, or if he really knew what he was talking about. Let us all know if it works out, will ya?

I think you just need to find the right fuse values for the higher wattage... not sure but I am interested on the tail light swap.

For the tailights to LED's there are numerous discussions related to what programming / other would be involved relating to the E46. I don't think that X3 would be that different. For E46 info related to LED tails check out E46Fanatics.

I recently was an Intel conference sponsored by BMW and there was a variety of X3's (colors and styles). I noticed that the X3 angel eyes really made a difference in the front end appearance of the X3.

The OP eventually decided not to proceed with the headlight swap due to the different wiring harnesses for the lights, however I would expect that only a small wiring adapter would be required to provide the power to the corona rings (similar to the adapter used for E39's which I made the switch previously). If anyone has a basic understanding of wiring, they could probably figure it out...

Its been a couple of years now but has anyone tried the swap out from a 2006 headlight assembly to a 2007 headlight assembly with corona eyes. I am now thinking of buying a second set of lamp housings (just the plastic) to do my angel eye install. PimoX3 - did you sell your 2007 lamps on Ebay or did you install them yourself?

I believe now we should be seeing LED tail replacements for X3's. The one's that I installed in my E46 are still working well after a couple of years. No computer errors etc.
