clutch/short shifter/jet chip

has anyone come across either a short shifter, or sport clutch for the x3. The wife thinks the truck is too slow. looking to start with minor cost upgrades. My X is a 04, 2.5, 6spd. I love the drive but it could use a few extra balls. any experiance with the jet chip would be nice to hear too. Thanks

Regarding the clutch, have you seen posts related to CDV (Clutch Delay Valve)?

I wouldn't think a short shifter would add anything to forward motion time,
other than "feeling" more "snicky-er". CDV remove/replace may make the
first gear clutch engagement, (and higher gear changes), smoother or feel
quicker, but speed shifting is not rec'd. As for "chipping" it, I doubt it will
have any real impact other than denting your wallet. The 2.5 engine is
the basic hold back, imo, and not easy to rod or make it go better.

We have an '01 3.0 X5 with 5 spd, and it hauls azz, fwiw.

thanks

I will check out the CDV threads, I havent heard anything about them. Overall the X does almost everything i want, what it doesnt do rims/tires/suspension should fix. the wife would just like the shifting to feel more like her car. In the end supercharging is what id like...whenever 5grand shows up unanounced in my acount I'm all over that. for now I love the motor thanks for the tips
