navigation computer location

I have a 2007 X3 and need to get access to the nav computer and the phone module. The docs and posts allude to a rear panel in the cargo area. I can't see anything that indicates a panel can be removed and I don't want to start yanking on things until I know they can actually be reomved. Can someone tell me haw to remove this panel or point me in the direction of a doc that describes it? Thanks.

Left hand side exactly adjacent to the well that holds the small toolkit. Look at the plastic trim above the carpeted side trim (below the glass) and you will see a rectangular button. Press it and the side panel will pop open. Swing down from the top and lift out. The nav computer is behind the panel and so is the phone module.
