Do you also experience this and ideas if I can do anything about it? Note: I am a fit 39 year old and no elderly person. Nor do I need to go to the gym more

i have a 05 so i am not sure if my method will work for you on a 07. But i usualy bring the trunk lid all the way down up to the point where it will drop on its own (probably 4inch?) and let the mechanism kick in and latch on. For me i hear the thing taking over and closing on its own.

Tried just letting the lid go the last 5-10 inches but that does not work either. A semi hard slam is what it takes but still it does not shut every single time. Just have to live with it I guess. The E91 lid was not a dream either. On that car everything else was perfect but when shutting the lid it sounded like a car crash
Thanks for the input.
