Peake Code Question-2882 and 2883
My 2004 X3 3.0i has been coming up with the same fault codes over the past month or so, triggering the SES light. The scanner shows codes 2882 and 2883 if I am reading it correctly (that could be the problem!) which indicates "mixture preparation bank1 and bank2." I cleaned the MAF and air filter which helps for a little while but after 20-30 miles the SES is back on, same codes. Engine is rough right at startup but otherwise drives fine. Any ideas? I have searched multiple forums and the information is hard to decipher. Thanks. Want to be prepared before taking in for service.

I would guess that it could be a vacuum leak. Codes give you symptoms, not causes. When you take it in your dealer will follow a test protocol for whatever BMW specific codes they get.
