newbie ipod question

I'm new to this ipod mp3 player stuff, I still just listen to CD's, so, my question is, can you get an ipod, or mp3 player, and link it into your BMW sound system? I assume so, and if so, what do you need, and what brands work best? tia

Yes, check out the Dension IceLink Plus system. Although this article is for an X5, the same functionality pertains for the X3 - http://www.xoutpost.com/showarticle-240.html

Tom G. from EAS, who is one of our sponsors, is a great source for all the components you'll need to do this install.

Santa Clause must have found you

Lots ( LOTS ) of IPOD info here and other X3 forums

Do you have the in console CD changer?
if you don't then your DIY will be easy, our X3's let you install your ipod in the console, No running cables, no taking the interior apart ( except for the console )

This is not the voice of experience speaking, i'll let you know how ab does with his DIY Santa Clause (ab) found me
