Congrats! We had some initial gremlins to work out when we purchased our early build 2004 new, but it was all sorted out under warranty. There's a good chance that any nits on yours were dealt with a long time ago, and you should be able to just enjoy motoring! It has been at least 2 and a half years since I've had to do anything with our X3 other than gas it and change oil and tires. What a great car. Most reliable car we've ever had.
As an added bonus, you have the great "wash and wear interior" and firm suspension that BMW intended from the get go. Later year models were softened and given a luxury touch which doesn't suit the E83 well IMO.
