Stuck Door

Its been a year with our X3 M sport without much issue... Love it!

But recently, the rear passenger door stopped working from the outside. The door handle seemed to work properly (no stickiness or weird noises etc) but there was never a feel that it was catching the door latch. You could NOT open the door from the outside, but it would open from the inside.

I have not had much time to deal with it, but I started messing around with it this weekend with my 3 y/o "helping" me. I had the door open and messing around with the latch and trying to see how the door card comes off. Long story short, I closed the door and now I can not open it from either direction! My best guess is that he hit the child safety switch.

Is there a way to "jimmy" this door open?
