BMW is also considering a rear wheel drive version. sDrive X3 instead of xDrive.

Just read the "First Drive" article posts and I am seriously hacked off, no manual transmission! 8-speed ZF tranny only for us yanks! That totally sucks! :-(

If that's true I'm outta here. I'll be selling my 1st gen X3 Sport package with 6-speed and look elsewhere. It was a blast while it lasted. DAMN!
