x5Alpine is on a distinguished road
2003 x5 4.6is for $3900
I just found an 03 4.6is with 113,000 miles for $3900. It needs new timing chain guides but this car restored to new condition plus paint and mechanical work would go great with my E39 M5. I miss my 4.6is anyway.

It might be like the one in the 4.4i resto thread..."new fuel pump" turned out to mean new short block.

I want to purchase3 it so badly but I'm worried about what my other half would do to me if I did, ha. and It needs chain guides so basically I'd strip everything down to the block and replace from there on up. It would make a hell of a DIY almost like what went on in this thread.

I say buy it. The 4.6 and 4.8is models are a somewhat rare bird and if you have the know how to restore it then I say game on. Give your other half an IOU for something she wants in the future.
