A/C issue

I have a 2001 x5 4.4 with 160 k miles

i have the following issue. 1) A/c doesn't work meaning it doesn't blow cold air.
2) the self leveling inact message is on ( car is leveled in the rear)
3) seat warmers do not work

Ok, sound simple enough however here's the mystery that has me going crazy- randomly ( once or twice a week) while driving the a/C starts to work (blows cold air). Now, when the a/c blows cold, the self leveling message also goes away and the seat warmers work.

I have replaced the battery, pusher fan and of course the ac compressor works.

Is there a correlation or do I have a ghost in my car?
