Front right and left rear PDC Sensors

Good Morning All!

My PDC isn't working on my 2006 X5 4.4i. I did my homework , I thjink, andfound that the front right and left rear PDC Sensors aren't ticking..

Before I buy em, I thought I'd check here and see if anyone has tried these or similar?

Also, are the front and rear sensors the same part?

If I order 2 of these will they be what I need.

I do have tone, just steady tone....

First check the wiring and connectors at the sensors. Mine just needed to be cleaned.

I have had good luck with used OEM pdc sensors from eBay. Usually around $20. So far I've needed two.

Depending on the location, some have the straight connector and some have a 90-degree connector. Suggest pulling yours to verify connector style.My outer left on the front was a 90. I snagged mine from a local wrecker and it was a BMW one.

On the outside the lense is clean.. I'll ck connections.

Which ones on ebay? The oem parts that I see are lots more $$$.

Good idea , I'll look at the ones I need before ordering!

I have ordered the one for the rear.... Was looking at it last night and am wondering what the proper removeal method is for the old one ¿?

For my front left, it required bumper removal. Good luck

The rears don't require taking off the bumper. And some of the fronts don't either.

Here's the method for the outside rear sensor:

They have a two part plastic housing, which holds the actual sensor in the middle.
1. Use some masking tape to protect the paint around the sensor if you care.
2. Use a plastic spatula or other non-marking pry tool to pop the outside trim ring (trim around the sensor) off. I sometimes use a pick or something pointy to lift it up first.
3. You should be able to push the sensor and rear part of plastic housing back into the bumper cavity. (It sometimes works better to get it loose, rotate slightly and pull out - remember the wire!).
4. Reach up under bumper and disconnect the wire.
5. Inspect the electrical connectors and plastic tabs.
6. Place new sensor into rear part of housing and position
7. Snap front trim ring in place.
