CDC Error - need to reload CDs every trip??

Hi All,

two possibilities with this one, firstly that the CD changer may be crapping out because it seems to be happening more and more often; it happened the first time, then every few weeks, but now I have to remove the CD magazine and reload the discs before I start every journey, otherwise I get THIS message...

Or it could be related to the general health of my ICE which seems to be connected to the transmission, as both have quit unexpectedly together while the car is idling after a moderate run out, say, 10 minutes driving. I will be waiting at the lights, the revs will drop and the 'DSC/ 4X4 Inactive' warning will chime while the radio momentarily cuts out. Pretty dodgy - does this ring any bells (either situation??)
