Snow performance - Toyo T1

Hi All,

I'm planning for a 2 day snow trip to Lake Tahoe this weekend. I have a X5 4.6is with chrome 20" OEM wheels and Toyo T1 tires. I was wondering if this setup is good or really bad in snow.

I think just about any 20" wheel tire setup will suck in the snow. You need dedicated 18's with true snow tires to really perform in the snow. Those T1's are high performance summer tires btw.

Thanks for you reply. I did read in the forum about the nightmare of 20's on snow. I'm going to rent an SUV for the trip.

I live here around Lake Tahoe and have Toyo Proxes (all season) on 20" 4.8is wheels. In my experience, they're slippery if there are more than a few inches of snow on the ground, and yours would be even worse. Best thing is to go with a winter package.
