18" wheel ideas

I realize I'm probably the only one crazy enough to have some staggered style 87 wheels on my x5 and want to go to 18s. They just don't quite fit what I'd like to use the x5 for mainly life in the country and trips around states like wyoming. I'm looking at putting 18s with nitto Terra grappler g2 size 285/60r18 yes Im aware it might not fit.

What I'm looking for is ideas for good looking 18s my x5 is black

Plus 1. I'd love to see some 18in wheel options. I have the style 74s with 275/60/18 but want some different 18s eventually.

How much excess room do you have with that size tire?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...so I have no clue what would be a good looking wheel to you.

Are you wanting suggestions other than the 18" wheels that BMW offered for the X series? Are you considering aftermarket 18" wheels?

I run the Style 153 18" wheels in the winter mounted with dedicated winter tires...and I like the way they look. Here's a link to the BMW X wheels...remember that the e70 & F15 wheels have a larger hub (74.1mm)...and the e71 X6 has a split axle...the front is 74.1mm but the rear has a 72.56mm: All BMW wheel styles X | BmwStyleWheels.com

What QSilver sez. I have two sets of 18s - those originally mounted on my 'sport' pkg 2006, and a set of E70 five-spoke [I forget which style - 209 maybe?] on which I have my summer performance tires [with hubcentric rings on 2 to fit], with Conti DWS all seasons on my original wheels. You can probably get a good deal on 18s on craigslist from someone 'upgrading' to 20" wheels. I got a great deal on my E70 wheels from a parts guy at a big Atlanta dealership who got them when new vehicle buyers wanted to 'upgrade.'

Plenty of room. The front will only rub on full lock without spacers. With the spacers they don't rub at all.

I like the look of the style 74s (e28jay pics above).

I kept my OE set of 74s for towing duty, my staggered 19s are lightweight & only load rated for 680kg (maxed out around 6k lbs).

I'm aware that what some like others hate. I was just trying to get an idea of what most consider looks good on an e53

I'm with TiAgX5, though his aftermarket staggered 19s look mighty fine. Generally, the five spokes [like the 209 18" E70 wheels I picked up, or the 74s pictured] look good on E53s IMHO .......

I went with a small spoke/small hub aftermarket wheel to really show the brakes.
