Navigation Screen - Discoloration
Hey Everyone - I have a 2005 4.4i w/ 77k. I have the stock, factory naviagation. The screen is doing something really weird. At times, (except for the dead pixels), I have a vibrant color screen. Then, randomly - doesn't matter temp hot or cold or any other factors, the screen is s dull gray but you can still see the details of the map. Then, the screen turns hulk green, completely green!
What's going on? Is this main unit going bad or is it just the screen? If its the main unit, is dynavin still the way to go or are there any other products available? Thanks to all who answer! |

My X does the same thing from time to time. It is the connection at both end of the cable. I took the NAV apart, cleaned the contact on the cable and LCD, put everything back and it worked for about a year. I have done it twice in the past 4 years.

Clean the contacts first with electronics cleaner and then apply a little dielectric grease to keep the metal contacts from oxidizing.
