Welcome to the area. I occasionally use Pat at S2dynamics in Rockville. But there must be some on the VA side, too

A few places I have experience with:

G&C tire and auto in Chantilly: I haven't had anything major done there but they've always been honest as far as I can tell.
RRT Racing in Sterling: Lots of race car guys go there. They do good work but I think they're a bit more on the expensive side.
Fairfax Service Center in Fairfax: The previous owner of my X5 went here all the time and seemed to like them. I've never been there but they specialize in BMW, Mini, and Mercedes.
Overstreet European Motors in Gordonsville: Not close (1.5 hrs), but I know the mechanic there (Paul Overstreet) personally and he does great work, is 100% honest, and is an all around great guy. He used to be an Audi master mechanic. I go there whenever I can and trust him to do anything on my car. Price is very fair as well.
