Replacing the headlight - Dashboard notification error

I had a cracked lens to my headlight so decided to buy a second hand one off ebay. The new headlight is off the same year and model as mine, 2004 3.0d xenon headlight and done the swap (inc. the ballast, xenon starter and bulbs) only the new headlight bring a ping on the dash 'check highbeam light'. I have done some investigation reset the error codes, swapped bulbs etc but it would appear the error code keeps coming up under lights with 'identification unknown'.
Any ideas how i can get this working correctly as the ping is bring to annoy!?
Thanks.

Probably need to code the headlight so that the system will know it's a HID and not a Halogen setup.

Thanks Upallnight..
However if it's the same headlight but from another vehicle so would it still need 'coding'?
I have the INPA and NCS expert and can comfortably change the settings but, how do I code the headlight?
Thanks for your help.
