Door lock actuator failed again 11months/ 15k miles

I took the door apart, I thought it would be the handle mechanism but that's all intact. The original unit lasted 10 years and 130k miles. The replacement 11mos/15k from BAV just went out and has a one year warranty which had one month left on it, so they sent a new one, but without a warranty. To get my refund I have to fill out a form for BMW including VIN and mileage, but not how long the last one lasted, they will never know since this new one is not under warranty either. Has anyone ever take apart the actuator to see what fails? This one I will take apart if it fails.
