Looking at a E70, guys says it's 4.8is?

I have been thinking about picking up a E70 , it is in great condition, with a sets of winter wheels ,BUT the guy wants $21.5k it has 105k miles ,the going rate for that car with those miles is $18k.
But the guy says it's a 4.8is E70 , now 'is' BMW cars have upgraded suspension,sway bars , a sport tuned engine and I believe shorter stroke then a [E70]4.8i .
I checked and I think BMW didn't even make a 4.8is E70.

No such thing as 4.8is for the E70, it's a pure E53 term.

E70's were 4.8i & xdrive48i literally same car, i think bmw just slapped on "xdrive" after a certain year for some odd reason (even though every single one has it).

What he may be referring to is that is has the "sport" package.

IS is not pure e53.

For example, all e36 IS cars were two door. The I was a four door.

The first two years of the e70, there was a 3.0si.

And there is a difference in the xdrive cars which I believe started in 2004 on the X5's.

Bmw made a 4.8I as the high-end e70 when they were released it was 3.0si and 4.8i it then went in to the turbo power plants with a 35i 50i x5m
