2001 4.4 gearbox issue.

Hi guys,

recently I've had some issues with my gearbox, I hope someone with experience can shed light on this.

If I accelerate moderately for the first or second time after start up, the gearbox feels like it slipped out of gear (feels like brakes have been slammed on) and makes a very loud screech, this is then followed by it going in gear and setting of rather aggressively.

if I slowly take it through the gears with very low acceleration it will be fine and when this process is done it is fine even under heavy acceleration.

out of the 10 or so times it has happened the TFS error has only came ones, but when the car was switched off and on it was fine with no error stored when hooked to diagnostics.

any help is greatly appreciated
