he's charging me $160 to change the transfer case oil and he looked over the car and said I need to change both rear upper control arms and both lower spring seat pads. he charging me $360 labor for that job, is that a good price?

$360 is labor only? doesn't sound too bad, but could be better.

Anyhow back to original questions, how is your tranny now? because all the work you've done has nothing to do with tranny.

as of right now I haven't did any work to the car. he cleared the codes and the car is driving fine like nothing happened. his basic explanation is that the transfer case is getting confused because im running lean and the throttle response is not matching the engine output

160 for tcase oil is a bit expensive. Especially since it only uses less than a qt of the BMW special sauce, like $50-$60 a qt. Draining and filling it is a joke. Reset adaptations on it after that. You should also inspect the tcase actuator for shaved gear.

160 was for fluid and labor but I don't think I'll do it unless the trans failsafe comes back
