BUMPER BRUSH GUARD

Does anyone know the proper term for what I would call the "Bumper Brush Guard" I don't see a lot of X's with these bumper guards . Do people remove them? Is it an option for certain years?

Over here we call them a nudge bar.

I can see the analogy but I don't think I would be nudging much with them. I really can't see what use they really have, They have absolutely no support. Does anyone know if they were an option?

No idea. Mine was fitted already when I purchased the car second hand. It has a modest amount of support, along with two rubbers between the bar and the front bumper where it loops up and over (just before the horizontal bar section). It may help reduce the impact from parking 'nudges' at best. I'll be using mine to support an LED light bar in the future, so I can see wandering wildlife a bit easier on my night drives... Never had my front fascia (bumper) off, so I have no idea how they are supported or fitted to the vehicle. That said, it is made from powder coated mild steel, so will help a bit more than plain plastic in a modest impact...but it all depends on how it's mounted to the vehicle I suppose.
