Transfer case adaptation value reset

About to change my transfer case fluid and am hoping to find a solution for resetting the adaptation values myself without having to go to the dealer. Are any of you aware of any software diagnostics or scan tools that allow you to reset this parameter?

I saw this online and it mentions being able to access and reset transmission codes, etc...

Launch Tech® 301050118 - CRP129 Pro-Code OBDII Scan Diagnostic Tool

Anyone done this themselves without a GT1/Autologic? Thanks-

You must have some way of reading the error??
If your using "DIS" - this is how I got it reset (with help from the forum)

this is how I got DIS on an old Windows XP laptop:

Hope that helps!

I use INPA. It is very easy to use and is free. All you need is a cable for 20 bucks. Here's a link to all the free software and very detailed instructions on how to set it up.

I'm sure it will work. Some have had success with it. You might need some help from the guy which I've heard he is great with helping customers. The thing here is he is selling free software.. Lol. Did you read my link?

Yes, I did read through your post. Thanks for the fantastic and helpful information! Unfortunately I had already ordered that cable/software package before I received your reply. As it was only $35, I'll go the route you posted if it's looking like mine is more trouble than it's worth. 😊 Thanks again -

Can the reset be done with PA soft?

I have the oil abrasion error and have bought new fluid from BMW and am going to change it at the end of the week.

If I can reset with PA soft that would be great.
