Replace Seat Memory Control Module With Non-Memory Unit?

Hello gang.

I can get an E53 non-memory module for next to nothing. I'm replacing the module because my tilt / telescopic wheel is inoperative.

If I use a non-memory unit, will I retain manual adjustment of the mirrors / seats / tilt / telescopic wheel? I really don't care about losing the memory function as I'm the only one who drives it.

Thanks in advance!

Looking at the diagrams... although the master controller for the components you inquired about is the GM...it appears the side mirror's control goes through the door block modules as secondary control modules:

...and the driver's seat control module (PM-SM)...controls the seat & steering wheel:

But the e53 has a different seat switch...and memory function of the mirrors may be lost since "memory" function is incorporated into the driver's seat module and not a separate switch like in the diagram above for the e38/e39:

Thanks for the schematic. I'm understanding these monsters more and more as I go.

I pulled a control / memory module out of a Rover today at my friend's junkyard. The last 3 on the P/N were 383. I threw it in and the tilt function was restored. I did reprogarm my settings to my key.

If I had the option, I'd do away with the memory altogether as I'm the only one who drives it.

Thanks again!
