Could be just a bad sensor or loose connection. I wouldn't think much about it until you look at the pads.

Many people when installing the sensors install the wires routed incorrectly and they get chafed or pulled during suspension travel. Perhaps that is what happened? Seen that more times than I can count.

I would guess if you just changed the rear pads you know the fronts are OK. I would check if the sensor is plugged in to the lock point and if the end at the pads is in place If So, I would buy a new sensor and replace what is there even if it was replaced along with the pads, And, as mentioned, be sure it is routed properly.

Usual suspect is a poorly re-installed wear sensor. Double check your work, then inspect the axle that was not touched on.
