Ratcheting gear noise on left turn

Sounds like a ratcheting gear on gentle left turns. Hard to reproduce, but seems loosely repeatable with steering wheel at about 70-80 degrees turned to the left. Only seems to be when taking off gently from standstill.

I've done a tight figure 8 exercise in a parking lot to see if I could hear a CV joint creaking, but I heard nothing and couldn't reproduce. No codes either. When you turn the car off, you don't hear the transfer case gear noise I've heard others mention.

Any ideas?

Perhaps simple visual inspection of CV Joint boots is a good idea, just to be on safe side...

Boots are all good. I keep an eye on them and look for the grease sprays regularly. I had one let go back in the summer, but I caught it and had it repaired within days.

Jack the car up and give the wheel a good shake. You could have a bad wheel bearing.

Just had on hoist Friday and all front joints/bearings had no play. I have a steering wheel shimmy, but that's rotors I'm running out.
