x5 4.6is replaced gm3 issues. Need help

Hi! I have an -03 4.6is, i bought it about a month ago. It was bought with a broken gm3 unit (no interior lights and no lock/unlock from key fob). I bought a used gm3 unit from a -04 with 4.4 v8. When i plugged it in the interior lights came on right away, and the key fob now works to lock/unlock the car. I was wery happy with that it seemed to work, until i tried to open the trunk. The trunk worked perfectly Before and was the only thing that would open from the key fob Before the switch. Now when i press trunk unlock, either from interior button, key fob, or the handle at back, it releases the lower hatch. The button on the lower hatch does nothing. the only way to open the upper hatch is by using the emergency opening from inside.

Anyone have any suggestions about this issue? Do i need to re-code the used module or in worst case buy a new module.
