advise on iPhone stand/charger PLEASE
all the newer styles I see you have to clip them on the air vent, or a separate stand and then plug in a charger separately. Like to hear what others are using. thanks

So far I just lay mine across the closed ash tray in a landscape position. Not ideal, but since I have a 6s Plus none of the dash/window holders I've seen are big enough to hold it. Having the charger run from the rear lighter outlet to the front keeps the wires out of the way for me, and I use a bluetooth adapter for the AUX input.
I'm interested to see what other are doing too, since I do not want a vent mount or anything that requires specialized cases.

You do know there is a charger port under the foot well of the passenger side - might be a less disruptive path then going along the back, OR maybe not?
I just ordered another Griffin "tune flex" off Ebay. 6 bucks is worth it until I find a better setup. the only disadvantage is I have to use an adaptor from iPhone 4 to the newer smaller lightning end, thus making it a bit more unstable by standing it higher. I did the "fix" to get an aux input into our radios and have a wire coming up through a hole in the ashtray that I plug into the iPhone, when not in use its hidden in the closed ashtray. 2003+ Bmw without Ipod Interface - Add Aux Jack

I used an old lighter-port adapter from XM radio and had to do the same 30-pin to Lightning adapter. It worked, but kinda ugly.
Yeah, the bluetooth to Aux adapter in the glove box is currently plugged into the plug in the footwell. I need to fix it anyway since whoever owned the X5 before me managed to rip it out of the floor so it kinda just hangs ther. For my scenario it's easier to use the rear lighter port in the center console. The other benefit is that anyone in the back can also charge their devices since its a high-power 48W 4-port adapter. The spec.dock looks nice, but really expensive and doesn't have an adapter for a Plus device.
