Brake rotor micrometer - recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a decent, but inexpensive, brake rotor micrometer? And can anyone post the min. thicknesses for a 2004 4.4 for me? Thx!

Jay,

28.4 on the front
18.4 on the rear

I dont know if an inexpensive micrometer exists
I paid about $150.00 for mine.

Harbor Freight:

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=37173

thetoolwarehouse.net
http://www.thetoolwarehouse.net/
put micrometer into the search bar on the top right

northerntool.com
http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...11&R=200306411

several options... with rotor thickness its not that necessary to be that accurate... ballpark will let you know when to replace...

i got one from thetoolwarehouse.net... forgot how much i paid tho...

no problem.. just be sure to get one that can go bigger then 1"... 25.4mm is 1 inch and the front rotor's minimum spec is 28.4mm or slightly bigger then an inch...

Yes, exactly - that why I posted. I have a 1" now and just found out it didn't fit over the front rotor! Looks like it'll fit the rear just fine, but the damn shield is in the way. I suppose I'd have to swing the caliper out of the way to measure these, or is there an easier way? Thanks again - really appreciate your help!
