Dumb Accident on the way to to work

Move to lounge thread if needed...

I must have seen the most bonehead accident about a hr ago on my way in to work. Couldn't imagine the level of damage bearing the scenario :

Local street. We're talking red lights and all, trickling at 5-10 mph. Can't recall what really occurred, but red turned green, car in front on me takes off. Not uber fast, a wild guess 20mpg. Fast enough I suppose to clip a car on the opposing lane and send that car careening towards the sidewalk.

2 Way Street. Single Lane. For whatever reason, the car in front of me ends up clipping the a car in the opposite lane. That car in the opposite careens towards the sidewalk. The front wheel is all jacked on the side facing the 2 way. I'm sure the other side is dinged as well. The car doing the clipping continues to drive on for a short bit and then stops.

This is where I can't see how this occured unless the car behind got scared and hit the throttle. Anyhow, this car somehow also mananges to head straight into the curb, hit's a pole head on, airbags deployed. front end smushed in as well...

3 Cars. Quite some damage....we're talking considerable sheetmetal damage on 1/4 panels, if not full on hood, bumpers, etc all taking place in which, theoretically, speed was not a fugging factor.

Sounds like a normal day in Washington DC! Driver skill level 2, Attention Level 2 = many wrecks a day.

Another great one: One day while driving on the DC Beltway, 5-6 lanes wide, a old and well used up full size Chevy window van carrying 7-10 day labors, runs down the acceleration ramps and proceeds to make a complete 90 degree turn to get into to the FAR left lane. He is traveling oh maybe 40, meanwhile traffic is going by at 65/75. He clips the car in the slow lane, now he is completely sideways to traffic flow but still driving towards the left lane, three cars just miss him but yep, gets plugged in the left quarter panel and gets flipped up side down, flys/slides past the left lane and onto the wet medium grass area where the van spins like a top for oh, 10 rotations. Finally comes to a stop and out pours the contents, walking like children after one too many spins on the kid park toys. No injuries, just sheet metal.
Oh, no licenses, no insurance cards, no one speak English (real or fake who knows), fake 30 day tags, etc. Another great road trip around the area.

We should title this posting: And what did you see today?

from a few years ago: In slow heavy traffic one morning a Woman shaving her legs with shaving cream and a razor. Propped up on the dash while moving.
