You should look into getting a wireless charger. I leave my X keys in the wireless charger if it doesn't open the doors.

Check around town for a vendor that can check remote keys to see if they're transmitting a signal. No. Need to cut open the key or buy a replacement if the key ain't the issue.

Many automotive places have reader/checkers...call around to see who has them where you live.

The dealer usually warranties parts for two years - probably worth a call to see if it's still under warranty.

I use a wireless charger for a tooth brush, the key fits into the base of the charger. It's a Philips wireless toothb rush.

I bought my X5 about a month ago and the keyless entry wasn't working. Last night, one of my asshole cats knocked the key into their water bowl and nobody in the family noticed it for about half an hour.

Today, I was sitting around inside and pressed the button on the key for no particular reason, and the keyless entry worked! It's the strangest thing... the key doesn't look to have ever been opened, so water should not have gotten inside of it, but none of the buttons were functional previously, and all of them are functional now.

Does anyone have any plausible explanation for this occurrence?

EWS key issues or need new keys?
[email protected] RocketSurgeon on bimmerforums.
I'm so happy with his work, speed, cost and quality.
I had him reprogram a key for my e39 and cut 2 additional keys and programed my EWS to work with them all.

Additionally he took the transponder out of one of my X5 keys and put it in a new key he cut and programed 2 spare keys for it as well.

You will need to remove your EWS and mail it to him. Turn around time was 3 days from removal to reinstall.

He's a pleasant person to deal with and saved me SO MUCH F'N MONEY!!!

Tell him I said Hi!
