A plug for maxlife oil for the n62

A couple of years ago I decided to switch to maxlife blend to see if it would improve my valve cover gasket leak on my n62 powered 545i. The bmw oil the dealer used was starting to leak enough during extended idling that a burned oil smell would enter the cabin. Not wanting to pay the money yet for these gasket or do it myself I decided to experiment with a seal conditioning oil, instead of a seal swelling oil.

6000 miles later the leak has stopped and has been reduced to very light sweating. I am going to switch to the synthetic formula of Maxlife next month. The car has 80k miles now and had 74k when I started this test.

I am actually going to switch all of my cars to Maxlife synthetic. 5w 30 or 10-30. Not sure yet. I figure these bmw gaskets need all of the help I can get.

The most any one of my cars gets in a single year is 5k miles. The other 3 I have only get about 1k per year max and I think this oil is plenty good enough for those intervals.
